St Michael’s is a well-equipped and highly resourced school. The classrooms are either relatively new or refurbished providing an environment which is conducive to learning. In 2010-11, through the generosity of the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER) Funding, the brand new library was built with an interactive whiteboard and mobile furniture, enabling flexible learning experiences to occur. In 2012, an extension to this new library was completed which provides for additional resources for the teaching and learning of digital technologies.
St Michael’s has a large undercover multi-purpose court which enables physical education lessons to occur out of the harsh sun and rain.
Master planning of the school involves the redevelopment of the grounds, facilitating improved and safe places for the children to play and learn. This aspect of the master plan will be finalised once the building construction is completed. The school’s Parents and Friends Association are continually working with staff to improve the facilities and in 2010 were successful in applying for a grant which saw the addition of aluminium seating throughout the outdoor areas.
